Details of a Penny

Everyone has seen a penny, but not everyone has seen it from this perspective. Industrial CT Scanning allows us to characterize and quantify the fine details of many objects. This case study magnifies a penny, revealing incredible detail including individual strands of hair and creases in clothing.

This same evaluation can be applied to manufactured goods to evaluate for surface topography, internal and external defects, and dimensional inspection.

BREAKING NEWS: New details have emerged about the true size of Abe Lincoln’s nose. It was believed to be large – long and wide. However, scaled CT data confirms his nose was actually quite small, measuring just 1.6 millimeters tall and 1.14 millimeters long.
